Summary0000603: Add checkbox for ScreamTracker playback compatibility
Description

In previous versions of ModPlug tracker, the infamous S3M bug was not present (if an instrument change and tone portamento occurred at the same time, the note would not play). There were many songs from the first Unreal that I was listening to that were originally Impulse Tracker, but got converted to ScreamTracker before the game came out. However, in newer versions of ModPlug tracker, the S3M bug was emulated and now those modules have missing notes.

With the other formats, there is an option to enable/disable playback compatibilty, so why not do the same for ScreamTracker?

(the problem with having a compatibility mode is that we cannot simply store such a flag in S3M files, since I have set a goal to never add any kind of non-standardized "extensions" to formats that OpenMPT can write out - I thought about adding some kind of compatible playback mode based on the "made with" tracker identification when loading S3M files, but this would not carry over when re-saving the file in OpenMPT, which is a huge concern for me and that's the main reason why this problem is still unsolved.)
