| Summary | 0001711: A script to rearrange the sample map when changing tunings | ||||
| Description | Since the sample map of an instrument consists of 120 static notes, it has to be rearranged every time a new scale is applied to the instrument to make sure the same samples activate at the same frequencies. While I don't think any implicit behavior when changing scales is a good idea, it would be nice to have a manually activatable script somewhere in the instrument editor that would, given a source and destination scale, rearrange the sample map so that the transition between the samples in the destination scale happens as close as possible frequency-wise, to the source scale. | ||||

It certainly would be one good use case for scripting - which has been in the works for years (https://forum.openmpt.org/index.php?topic=4078.0). |
