It's not (just) MIDI - everything in OpenMPT is built around the 10-octave note range of the IT format, both internal data structures and file format structures. While it might be technically possible to achieve a range of about 7 octaves or so with 31TET without requiring a file format change, it would still require lots of other internal changes. |

...yes but that's not what the original ModPlug engine was made to support. Even if Orpheus supported 19 octaves, that wouldn't mean that we would have added support for those octaves in OpenMPT for the same reason as this feature request right here is difficult to add. |
