I'm not sure I entirely understand the request. Do you mean that the keyboard focus should be set to the input field by default?

when i press the button to configure the sample grid a box appears and there is a default value 0 and this value is selected, so i can just type a number and press enter.

when i press the add silence button a box appears with a default value of 64 but the value is not selected, so i have to select the value and then i can press a number and then press enter.

if i would press the add silence button and the box appears with a default value of 64, and if the "64" would be selected, i would just have to press a number and enter, and i would not first have to select the default value to over write it

every thing is OK with the value it self or the box... just the value is not selected and to change the value it needs a additional step
while in the "change grid" box the value is selected and i do not have to select the value by my self, i can just type a grid number and enter and Bang all is good.

i hope it may got more clear what i mean, and not more confuse :S

The value should now be pre-selected in the latest test build available at http://buildbot.openmpt.org/builds/

I can confirm that, in "Version: 1.25.02.03-r5622 64 bit TEST" the value is pre-selected.
This allows, faster sample editing/creation.
It is exactly what i meant with my long descriptions ;)
