| Summary | 0000698: Support for using Vorbis samples as external samples. | ||||
| Description | Vorbis files compress data extremely well, and the sound quality is great (depending on compression level). I would really like to see OpenMPT support Vorbis samples for use as external samples, since FLAC doesn't compresses the data very well. Its not really an important to have request, but it can come in use. | ||||

Vorbis, MP3 and others modify the spectrum of your samples which leads to weird artefacts as soon as you pitch them up or down (mostly down). You'd have to pump the quality way up for these artefacts to completely disappear, in which case the files will just be as big as their FLAC counterparts. (Small print: You can already use MP3 but even that is not intentional) |
