Summary0000661: Amiga-style Tone Portamento option for MPTM files
Description

Something that I would like to see for MPTM-format modules would be an option under Song Properties to enable Amiga-style Tone Portamento (and just for that song, not globally). The reason I want this is because there are often times when people (me included) will convert older songs to newer formats to update them, and it will break the way some effects sound and require everything to be retracked with much irritation. Also, some musicians who are more used to the Amiga might be switching to the MPTM format for the firs time.

Steps To Reproduce

You can hear the difference between the Amiga version and ImpulseTracker version on sequence 05h.

Additional Information

I first noticed that Tone Portamento effects sounded different in MOD format versus IT/MPTM format with a song by Neurodancer, Stary Hallway (depending on who is reading this, then you might remember this song from my last bug report). I have attached a ZIP file containing two copies of the song the song (one version in original format, and one version in updated format) so that you can see/hear what I mean.

No, will never happen. Either turn off "More IT compatible playback" for that file (which results in technically incorrect playback from the IT point of view), or retrack the patterns at double tempo so that you can change the SCx commands into v00 commands (no tone portamento is not the issue here, the issue is that SCx really stops the note and not just sets its volume to zero like in MOD)
