Summary0000614: First row in pattern not heard when using BIGBADABOM drum sampler
Description

When using the VST drum sampler BIGBADABOM,
http://www.pompougnac-daniel.com/06telech/vst/02vstis/01drums/12-12minibig21c.zip
the first row in the pattern is not heard when you press play. Although it is heard the second time around if the pattern is looping. This may be a buffer issue because it seems to only happen when MPT is stopped and the sound device is closed. I noticed that if the sound device is already open because a note was played on a sample/instrument for example, then the first row is heard when you press play as expected. More importantly though, the first row is not heard when exporting to wave. The problem does not seem to occur with other VST instruments so the cause could simply be flakey behavior from this particular VST, but I thought I would report it anyway on the off chance that OpenMPT might be the culprit.

The plugin seems to work as expected here, but if it indeed refuses to omit sound on the first render call, then it obviously is a plugin issue - it sounds like the plugin author assumed that the host would start processing audio before playback even starts, which is what many DAWs do.

Ah well that is too bad. It is one of the very few VST drum sample players which has enough accessible elements to be mostly usable.

The options it offers didn't seem to different from what OpenMPT can already do, though. :)
There's always the possibility of telling the plugin developer about the issue and point them at OpenMPT. It's nothing that OpenMPT really can change at the moment.
