Summary0000390: out-of-tune sample playback in "Miranda's Axe" by Jamsok
Description

The XM module "Miranda's Axe" by Jamsok has some samples that sound very out-of-tune in places. This can be heard quite clearly in patterns 10-14. The module appears to have been created in an older version of ModPlug tracker (reported as version 1.16). Years ago, I made a recording of this module using ModPlug player (can't remember which version), and it sounds correct in this recorded version. I have included this recording for reference along with the original module file in the zip file linked below. Please note that the recording had a bit of reverb added to it, which does affect the sound a bit.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Download the zip file containing the XM module and reference recording:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8126161/Jamsok-Miranda%27s_Axe.zip

  2. Open the XM module from the downloaded archive.

  3. Play the module and listen particularly to patterns 10-14.

  4. Cringe ;)

Has the bug occurred in previous versions? Some time ago, this module played correctly... at least in ModPlug player.
Tested code revision (in case you know it)

Well, strictly speaking, OpenMPT plays this correctly - it plays it like FT2 and XMPlay would.

Anyway, this should work a bit better again... http://sagagames.de/stuff/mptrack.exe

"Miranda's Axe" sounds much better now. However, I noticed that in the song properties window, it now says "Last saved with: FastTracker II", whereas in OpenMPT 1.22.02.00 it says "Last saved with: 1.16".

Yes, that's temporary, I'm going restore the original tracker detection functionality for XM and S3M later tonight.
