Summary0000356: previewing samples & instruments do not work if both BeRo tracker & ModPlug open at same time
Description

if you open a module in Modplug while BeRo tracker is open, previewing all instruments are silent, waveforms for instruments still exists (they show), song plays with sound and music when hitting play from beginning, but you cannot preview any instrument or sample in Modplug whil BeRo tracker is open as they make no sound... does this upon random.. close both programs and double click the module to open in Modplug to fix

Steps To Reproduce
  1. open BeRo Tracker, load a module
  2. open Modplug, load a different module (used an XM file)
  3. try previewing any instruments or samples - silence, waveforms show though
  4. play the module in Modplug - plays just fine...

just cannot preview samples or instruments

Seriously, do you think that OpenMPT contains code to check whether BeRoTracker is open and doesn't allow you to preview samples then? OpenMPT doesn't care at all if BeRoTracker is running, nor does BeRoTracker care if OpenMPT is running. Why should they do that, to begin with? It simply makes no sense. You are probably just running against this FAQ entry again: http://wiki.openmpt.org/Manual:_Frequently_Asked_Questions#OpenMPT_does_not_output_any_sound
Or you have openened the files you want to preview in another application, so OpenMPT can't open them. Either way, the bug description makes no sense at all.
