Summary0000336: ModPlug Player fails to detect tempo change in S3M file (1.46.01)
Description

Tempo change from 156 BMP to 246 at pattern 5. The only software I've found that does this correctly is PlayerPro and JMOD. The song is "Mystique Part 3" by Timelord (MYST3.S3M)

Steps To Reproduce

Play song file up to pattern 5. Lopes along when it should be quite fast at this point.

Uhm, sorry, but PlayerPro and JMOD must be getting this wrong. The module is not supposed to play at 246 BPM. The only reason I can see why a player would do this is because they interpret the Axx (Set Speed) S3M command the same way as the Fxx (Set Speed + Tempo) command in MOD / XM files, but that wouldn't be correct. The AF6 command in that pattern is ignored because it is superseded by the A06 command right next to it. If you don't believe me, check the file in ScreamTracker 3 itself and you'll notice that OpenMPT plays it correctly.

Also, please don't report bugs about ModPlug Player - I don't have the sourcecode for it, this issue tracker only covers OpenMPT (the tracker, not the player). ModPlug Player hasn't been updated in 10 years, and will never be updated again, because Olivier is the only person who still has the sourcecode for it.
