What are hierarchy menus?

If your feature request starts with that, it's always a bad sign: One feature request / bug report per issue, please. It makes it really difficult to organize features/bugs if they all belong to the same issue, as e.g. the issue cannot be closed if only half of the requested features were implemented.

you should be able to select multiple items in there

Unfortunately multi-selection is only a somewhat unofficially supported feature of the tree view component, so its behavior can be a bit iffy. I tried implementing it once but it didn't feel right. I might have to give it a go again at some point.

Indeed it would be. Did you actually try it? Because you can already do that.

I know, but the features were all interconnected so I wasn't sure what to do, so is the correct thing to do to open multiple bug reports at the same time right?

Indeed it would be. Did you actually try it? Because you can already do that.

Sorry my bad, the actual issue is that you can't drag instruments from soundfonts and sample banks directly into songs in the tree view, and it seems inconsistent that it can be done from song to song, but not sample bank to song.
