Summary0001618: [Wine/Linux] Issues related to edit history after r17651
Description

After the edit history changes in r17651 (I think), these issues now occur when running OpenMPT in Wine:

  • Viewing the edit history of a file crashes OpenMPT.
  • Saving IT/MPTM files is not possible (an error message pops up that reads "Unable to save file"), probably gets stuck on saving the edit history I think?

Windows is not affected. Versions older than r17651 are also not affected on Windows or Wine.

TagsNo tags attached.
Has the bug occurred in previous versions?no
Tested code revision (in case you know it)r17652 ~ r17657

Thanks, good catch.

Are you willing to report that issue to Wine, as in the end this really needs to get fixed/implemented there? I can provide additional information if Wine requires it.

In any case, I'll work on working around the Wine problem. I still have not tested on Wine myself, but I am pretty sure I know why it fails.

For the meantime, I would expect -legacy builds (those targeting Windows 7) to still work on Wine (I have not checked yet either, but will do once I have time available). If you want, you can check that, but I'll do so any way.

I can confirm that legacy builds are working fine.

Do I need to know the exact cause of the problem (not just what happens in OpenMPT) to report this issue to Wine?
If so, can you give me some technical information about this problem? Like what's exactly going wrong?

Never mind, I will report a Wine issue myself. There are multiple things missing in Wine.

Should be fixed in r17668.

Now to reporting the Wine issue(s).
