This is highly confusing, because this crash should not happen at all. The crash signature indicates that the menu bar does not exist, but you said that you opened the file through the menu bar. Please provide some more information about what happened before the crash:

  • Were there any strange UI glitches?
  • How many modules were open?
  • Do you use any software that modifies the look of other software, e.g. by adding buttons to the other software's interface, or similar?
  • Did this only happen once, or have you experienced a similar crash before?

Can you please also provide the crash dump for that video?

I am still puzzled. The original crash dump suggests that the file was opened from the Recent Files list in the File Menu. Is that correct? Can you provide a screenshot of the file menu?

Can you please download a recent test build from https://builds.openmpt.org/builds/auto/openmpt/bin.win64/1.28/ and verify:

  1. Does it still crash?
  2. Does the recent file list in the File menu still get updated when opening files?
