| Summary | 0001013: Norton falsely claims that OpenMPT is potentially unsafe | ||||
| Description | My antivirus software has been conflicting with Norton, where it potentially claims to be unsafe. Upon opening the installer for any program, and after installation, Norton does the same thing. Usually, a notification box says the installer requires attention, but the user has the option to run it anyway. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | This can happen on any machine that has a version of Norton on it. Just simply download the installer and run it. | ||||
| Tags | No tags attached. | ||||
| Has the bug occurred in previous versions? | Yes | ||||
| Tested code revision (in case you know it) | |||||
So if this is a problem with any software, how are we supposed to do anything about this? If Norton claims that OpenMPT is a threat (which I understand it does not), you must submit the program to them as a false positive so that they can whitelist it. |
