Description

i have many APE / OGG / M4A / ADPCM samples. to import them, first i need to convert them to PCM. if OpenMPT will use installed codecs to open my samples, it will be good because there will be no need to re-encode them to PCM.

Why would you save samples in lossy formats? I think it's actually good that OpenMPT supports lossless formats almost exclusively, because when people start using lossy compression for their samples, music is going to sound even worse than it already does.

OpenMPT 1.25.00.24-r5444 just got support for importing samples via the Microsoft Media Foundation framework on Windows 7 and newer.
This does NOT include support for importing any audio file supported by installed DirectShow codecs, however it should still cover the most common types that OpenMPT did not support previously.
Namely: aac/mp4/m4a, 3gp (and variants), MS-ADPCM encoded wav, mp3/mp2/mp1/mpa (without resorting to libmpg123) and various other, even less important, formats.
