Why would you ever assume that the old ModPlug Player is correct? It is completely off-key, because it does not support UltraTracker auto portamento, which OpenMPT on the other hand does support. ModPlug Player plays many files incorrectly. I spent the last 18 years trying to fix most of that. If something sounds different in OpenMPT, you can be 99% sure that it's correct that way. Bugs happen, but most of the time the changes are intentional.

So one of the lead instruments stops playing while the other one keeps playing. This is a completely different bug than what you initially reported. Fixed in r25232.
