Summary | 0001856: libopenmpt 0.7.12 breaking compatibility with ffmpeg
Description | I'm using libopenmpt as a dependency of ffmpeg (v5.1.6-1.el9) on redhat 9. Last week, the version of the dependency used incremented from 0.7.11-1 to 0.7.12-1, leading to ffmpeg not being able to run. The exact error was: ffmpeg: symbol lookup error: /lib/libopenmpt.so.0: undefined symbol: mpg123_param2 Reverting back to 0.7.11-1 has fixed this. 0.7.13 doesn't seem to be available in the repos I have access to yet, so haven't been able to try that.
Steps To Reproduce | install ffmpeg, try to execute

If you have issues after upgrading packages provided by your distribution, you have to let the person that maintains the package for that distribution know. Based on your information there is nothing actionable on our side. It is possible that they are modifying our source in ways we don't know, it is possible that they don't provide a recent enough version of mpg123... it could be many things. |
