Summary | 0000675: Edit Ticks (Detailed Row Jump)
Description | The Edit Step (formerly known Row Jump) value allows the user to force MPT to automatically jump x number steps after note entry, which is very convenient. Sometimes however more detail is needed, especially in the matter of triplet or other tuplet entry. So perhaps the answer is to allow a jump of x number of ticks upon note entry. MPT would, after entering a note, jump the measured number of ticks then automatically enter a delay command (SDx) in the row that it jumps to. I foresee the problems as well, so maybe there can be a restriction that the tick jump must be greater than the song speed (Ticks per Row), as it wouldn't help much to autojump a few ticks if it would keep it in the same row, leading to the whole conundrum of how to handle multiple notes in one Step. But with the Tick Jump value, this would allow finer control of where exactly the next note will be entered.
