Summary0000257: SampleTank 2.5 exception when loading VST
Description

I downloaded SampleTank 2.5 FREE and tried to load it into OpenMPT and it throws and exception at me. I know that 2.1 works as I've search the forums and found that answer, but it seems 2.5 does not work.

Steps To Reproduce

Download SampleTank 2.5 FREE and try to load the plugin.

Additional Information

It shows SampleTank2.x, but it's v2.5.

Does it work if you're using this OpenMPT build? http://sagagames.de/stuff/mptrack-noexcept.exe
Also, please state the exception that is thrown.

Yes, still does it. It throws:

"Exception while trying to load "SampleTank2.x"!
"At least one selected file was not a valid VST Plugin."

I know it is because I can open it in FL Studio and Sonar, however I do most of my stuff in OpenMPT (much easier to work with). Hope that helps a little bit.

Various internet sources suggest that you have to run all plugins by IK Multimedia with admin priviledges, probably due to their anti piracy crap. Launching OpenMPT with admin privileges will make SampleTank load properly.

Wow...what a crappy system they have for their stuff. Thanks for the info. I tried looking for info, but I didn't find much. You can close this.
