Summary0000995: Allow longer musics
Description

Short: Please extend the maximum length, which is currently 64 seconds.

Long: I really like musics to be in a single pattern. I use 16 notes per second. Lower won't work with music I want to reproduce. It's 160 seconds. But maximum number of rows is 1024, which is 64 second. I need longer music limit. Reproducing a 160 second music requires 2560, not 1024. Please add "debug" option where there is no limit. I can't use multiple patterns, because as I said, I really like musics to be in a single pattern.

Steps To Reproduce

Right click a pattern, choose pattern properties. A value higher than 1024 won't apply.

This is not feasible with the formats currently supported by OpenMPT because the compressed pattern data may not exceed 64KB. It is already possible to reach this limit with fully packed patterns, but once we would allow longer patterns to be used, it would be possible to reach this limit much earlier. So no, this is not going to happen.

So, I will never be able to create songs over 64 seconds? :(

The fact that you can create more than one pattern is an integral part of any tracker. If you refuse to use more than one pattern for whatever reason, there is no way I can help you. You can create up to 4000 patterns in the MPTM format, which is plenty for pretty much any usage scenario.
